Helping organisations to help themselves!

Sarah Wheatley, Community and Buildings Officer, and Ruth Bucknall, Allotments Officer, Derby City Council invited the Group Development team from Community Action - Nick and Liz - to hold a session on 'Fundraising ideas' and 'How to generate more income' to voluntary and community organisations in Derby city.

14 people from 11 different organisations came along to the event at the Community Room at Markeaton Park Craft Village on 13 February. The session was a great success - feedback from people on the day included:

  • The session was really useful and informative.
  • I didn't realise how much support and advice Community Action offered.
  • It was really helpful to share experiences and interesting to hear what others are doing.
  • Great presentation.
  • Many thanks all of Community Action's support is very much appreciated.

If you would like advice and support for your organisation on anything from setting up a community group to fundraising ideas then get in touch - email Liz Gumbley or Nick Pritchard or visit the Resources page.
