Citizens Advice - moving forward without DCC

When Derby became the first city in Britain without a walk-in Citizens Advice service, many feared for the well-being of Derby's most vulnerable. Fortunately the staff and volunteers of Citizens Advice & Law Centre have worked tirelessly to come up with new ways to give the same great advice for free.

You can still drop in to the offices on Green Lane, and the team will do all they can to help. You can also get help by calling 01332 228700. If you are a British Sign Language user then you can text to make an appointment on 07534 999367.

These vital services are still available as they are funded by people like Comic Relief and the Money Advice Service.

But alongside their funders' generosity, CEO, Susan Holmes, will tell you it's her team's dedication to helping those in need that has made this transformation possible. "We have to accept we can't replace the old face-to-face service. That said we still have a huge range of services that can help the people who most need it. The old way may have gone but Citizens Advice and Law Centre will remain, bringing help to the hopeless."
