Rock of All Ages choir releases 'Let Us Sing' - an original song written by the choir themselves - at a Halloween-themed launch on 25 October.

Chaddesden-based Rock of All Ages Choir is excited to release an original song - 'Let Us Sing' - on 25 October at a launch party at the Jubilee Club in Chaddesden and everyone is invited to go along and celebrate with the choir.

'Let Us Sing' was written by the choir themselves at a series of musical workshops held by Age UK. The sessions, run by choirmaster Dan Williams - who added the musical score - and colleague Joe Brown, gave members the opportunity to express themselves and capture the journey of the choir from the first meeting in 2012 to their public debut!

'Let Us Sing' expresses the joy, emotion and energy released through the power of song and fulfils the choir's aim of entertaining audiences with words and music designed to lift the spirits. It will be released as a charity CD.

The Rock of All Ages Choir was formed in 2012 through the inspiration of Teresa Williams, Development Manager at AGE UK Chaddesden. It is now a thriving community choir with around 50 members who perform rock classics at gigs throughout Derbyshire.

Teresa says, "Part of the Age UK ethos is to improve physical and emotional wellbeing, reduce isolation and offer new positive experiences. The choir has ticked all these boxes and more!

The choir is very proud to release it's own original song. Recording it was exciting and fun and for most members, a new experience."

The choir looks forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday 25 October at the Hallowe'en themed launch event at the Jubilee Club in Chaddesden. The event starts at 7:30pm and finishes at 10pm - the evening's entertainment is supported by Gateway Soundz, a voluntary group dedicated to providing music for those individuals who do not normally have access to it.

The choir practices every Friday at the Age UK Centre, Chaddesden Park between 11 am and 1pm.
